Iron Resurrection Crew Brings Modern Twist to a Vintage Off-Roader!

The Iron Resurrection crew, led by Joe Martin, is known for transforming vintage vehicles into stunning, modernized versions of their classic selves. Recently, they tackled a vintage off-roader, combining timeless design with state-of-the-art technology to create a vehicle that honors the past while embracing the future. The team, including Joe’s wife Amanda and talented fabricators like Mike Zabonik, are no strangers to such ambitious projects, and their latest creation—a vintage off-roader with a modern twist—has garnered significant attention.

This build was all about paying tribute to classic automotive design while introducing cutting-edge performance enhancements. Joe and his team took a vintage 1956 Ford F100 truck, for example, and infused it with a powerful Texas Speed 6.0L LS3 engine. This type of engine is known for providing modern power and efficiency, without sacrificing the vintage aesthetic that fans of old-school vehicles crave. Alongside this powerful engine, the crew installed a custom-built 2x4 steel chassis and a fully fabricated suspension system, using QA1 coilovers to ensure top-notch handling and ride quality, blending old-school charm with new-school performance.

The exterior of the off-roader retained many of its original features, but with a few significant upgrades. Subtle custom touches, like rolled pans and modified bed rails, were added to enhance the overall look. The crew also focused on maintaining the truck's vintage charm while upgrading its functionality—offering performance enhancements such as a GM 4L80E automatic transmission to ensure the vehicle runs smoothly on both rugged terrain and city streets.

One of the key aspects of this build, much like previous projects by the Iron Resurrection team, was the craftsmanship that went into metal fabrication. Lead fabricator Chad Glasshagel worked on custom metal elements for the exterior, giving the vehicle a unique look that sets it apart from other vintage off-roaders. His expertise in custom bumpers, grilles, and other body elements helped to elevate the truck's visual appeal, ensuring it stands out without losing the vintage authenticity.

Inside, the focus was on bringing modern conveniences to the vintage ride. High-end leather upholstery was paired with advanced technology like Dakota Digital gauges and a Kicker audio system. The custom center console, designed by upholstery specialist Justin Jones, adds to the comfort and functionality of the vehicle, ensuring that while it may look like a classic, it performs like a modern luxury car. This seamless blending of form and function has become a hallmark of the Iron Resurrection crew’s builds.

What makes this particular project stand out is the balance of restraint and innovation that Joe Martin and his crew are known for. While the off-roader has all the performance and tech upgrades a modern driver might want, it still exudes the character and charm of a vintage vehicle. This dedication to preserving the soul of the vehicle, while enhancing its capabilities for today’s roads, is what draws so many fans to the Iron Resurrection series.

By taking a meticulous approach to both performance and aesthetics, the Iron Resurrection team has once again proven their ability to reimagine classic vehicles for the modern age. Their unique blend of old and new not only appeals to classic car enthusiasts but also to those looking for high-performance, custom vehicles that can handle modern driving demands while retaining a vintage look.

This project is a testament to the expertise and creativity of the Martin Bros Customs team. As they continue to blend modern technology with classic design, fans eagerly await what’s next—whether it's another off-roader or a completely different type of vehicle, the crew’s signature style is sure to leave a lasting impression.
